Trump Rallies Planned Across Florida, Loyalists Eager To Welcome President Home
MIAMI — From Pensacola to Palm Beach, supporters of President Trump will be gathering in cities across Florida Saturday at noon in a show of support and to welcome their “hero” home, organizers and party loyalists told the Washington Examiner.
“This is President Trump’s ground zero, his home base,” said Michael Barnett, chairman of the Palm Beach Republican Party and a stalwart supporter of the president.
“He’s getting ready to move back to Mar-a-Lago,” he continued. “We’re ready to welcome him back as our president, as our good friend, our hero, and great servant of our country who got shafted by the establishment.”
Barnett said the Palm Beach GOP will be behind Trump if he decides to run again in 2024. The party chairman highlighted that Trump’s share of the vote in the traditionally blue county increased from 41% to 43% in the last election, an increase of 63,000 votes over the president’s 2016 tally.
“Florida is pretty much a safe Republican state,” he added while predicting a campaign role for Trump in coming GOP contests, especially for the reelection bid for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Loyal Trump supporter Willy Guardiola helped organize gatherings across the state for Saturday at noon and still holds out hope that President-elect Joe Biden will not be inaugurated next week.
“Joe Biden is not going to be putting his hand on the Bible on Jan. 20,” Guardiola said, noting he addressed about 100 supporters at Mary Mother of the Light Church Maronite Catholic Church for two hours Wednesday night.
“God’s got this, GGT, there’s something that I truly believe is going to be a miracle that’s going to happen. It’s going to stop this,” he said.
Guardiola boasted that his is the only church in Florida to remain open throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and portraits of the president hang on its walls.
The avid Trump loyalist takes credit for starting rallies at “Trump Corner” in Palm Beach Gardens, where pro-Trump activists could be seen each Friday at 4:30 p.m. waving flags and signs while sporting MAGA gear throughout the president’s term in office.
“The entire ordeal is far from being over, folks!” Guardiola wrote to his Palm Beach County coterie in announcing the event he started five years ago at the corner of Palm Beach Gardens Boulevard and Military Trail.
“Let’s keep the faith & never surrender, patriots!” he wrote.
Guardiola’s texts and emails to supporters called for flag and sign-waving, and caravans of trucks, cars, and bikers.
Scheduled rallies are planned for Pensacola, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Hernando County, Ocala, Naples, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami.
Guardiola’s military language was intentional, he said, as he described hopes that the U.S. Military will step up to assure Trump remains in office past Jan. 20.
“I know that the military is in place,” he said. “My prayer for the past four and a half years has been please come out and start arresting the Clapper’s, the Brennan’s, the McCabe’s, and all those deep staters.”
